You can be at the centre of it all at the 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships by becoming a volunteer! The four days of competition will require volunteers from many different walks of life in both the paddling and Dartmouth/Halifax community with an array of talents.

Getting Here

Getting HereBy Air:

The Halifax Robert L. Stanfield International Airport is the Atlantic Canadian centre for domestic, regional and international flight service. With over 600 flights a week, you can travel by air to Halifax on direct flights from many Canadian, U.S., European, and Caribbean destinations. Add to that hundreds more connecting flights and it’s easy to get to Halifax from just about anywhere in the world. Halifax is geographically closer to Boston (fly time 1.45 hours) and New York (fly time 2.25 hours) than any other Canadian city and over one hour closer to Europe than any other major North American city. There are over 20 daily flights from Toronto (fly time 2 hours), 10 from Montreal (fly time 1.5 hours) and 11 from Ottawa (fly time 1.75 hours). Read the rest of this entry »

Accommodations

Canoe ‘09 is providing several accommodation options for athletes, team members, federation officials, International Technical Officials, volunteers and spectators. If you are booking accommodations for Category 1, reservations must be made through the Canoe ‘09 office. All other accommodations must be booked by contacting individual hotels using the information included below. The deadline to book accommodations is May 1, 2009. Read the rest of this entry »

Volunteer Orientation – July 27 and 30

Canoe ’09 will host two orientation sessions for those volunteering for the 2009 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. Registered volunteers must attend one of the sessions. Volunteer packages and the information needed to help at Canoe ’09 will be handed out.
